For well over 100 years, The United States Playing Card Co. called Norwood, Ohio, home. Today, Factory 52 is the entertainment district in Norwood — a reimagined landmark and a city within a city. This 20.6-acre site is once again making history in America, honoring its storied past while connecting future generations to come.
From Humble Beginnings
It all started in 1867 as Russell, Morgan & Co., a printing manufacturer making mostly circus posters, placards, and labels — and later, playing card decks. Due to growing success, in 1894, the manufacturer was renamed The United States Playing Card Co. In 1900, they moved their factory from downtown Cincinnati to a newly built location in Norwood.
After sitting vacant for decades, that same address is now home to Factory 52 and its iconic, newly restored clock tower — thriving as it once did in years past.
The Past Is Looking Ahead
Factory 52 was and will always be part of something special. It’s where 100 years of history speaks to future experiences — a place with a storied past that became disheveled and only a distant memory of what it once was.
With environmentally conscious building efforts, Factory 52 has been repurposed, redesigned, and reimagined into something the local neighborhood would have never imagined.
